I have a 54 reg 140 bhp Diesel A4 Avant, I keep seeing people mentioning B5, B6 etc Im not sure what this means.
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a spec sheet/ data sheet which includes all data and configurations specific to my vehicle which can be downloaded or obtained. Possibly this is used by main dealers when ordering parts etc.
Sorry if im sounding thick but im new to the audi thing, for my sins iv worked for Peugeot for 25 years.

Yours will be a B6 chassis (built from 2001-2006ish).

Depends on how detailed a spec sheet you're after. If you're after something very detailed (ie: part numbers, etc.) you can use www.Vagcat.com but you will need to register.

For something a little more high-level there may be something in the 'Sticky' threads at the top of the B6 forum.

B5/6/7 is the model of car, that designates which generation it is.

B5 is the first model of A4, built between 1995 and 2001
B6 is the second model, built between 2001 and 2005
B7 is 2005-2008
B8 is 2008-

I suspect you'll have a B6, the easiest way to tell between the B6 and B7 is the B7 has the new style "big mouth" grille, B5 and 6 dont.
