gearbox modified final drive or upgrades ?

    AUDI S3 QUATTRO 02M GEARBOX

    hi has anyone done a final drive change with a tdi one or modified the gears at all?

    there was talk about it but wont to know if anyone has done it and what the end result was.

    also the rivet mod to bolts apr ones are £140 is there any others at a cheaper cost

    Its a largely pointless mod unless running lots of power tbh... the R32 boys do this when they turbo charge them but unless you have the power and torque it would kill acceleration...

    Did debate on looking at it for when I rebuild a gearbox for mine... might have a look when I get the box apart

    All the drag boys do it and run quicker quartermile times due to the one less gear change.
    I always find the s3 box is abit short so will be going down this route eventually.

    I will be doing it when I find a good second hand box but as above you need the power

    Andrew I still have my old box in my garage I need it gone.. Was rebuilt at some point.. PM me if you fancy it?

    VAG use diesel ratios in the 180hp K03S TT Roadster's DXW box

    tbh the DXW ratios aren't really that different to the O2J's ratios

    My car started with an O2J, then had a short ratio O2M and is now on a DXW retro-fitted with 6th

    - via random events rather than careful planning ;)
