    Hi Guys,
I've got a A4 2.0 Multitronic with the very common problem of the "PNRDS" lights flashing and the engine just revs. After much reading and research on the net the answer seems to be the same - The ECU is shot. I've found a company in Nottingham, ECU Testing.com. Has anybody used them before? Can anybody recommend them? I'm from South Africa and need to ship the ECU to the UK. It seems a bit like blind faith to just send the thing 13000km and hope for the best. As the agents in SA charges about an arm and a leg, I figured it much cheaper to send the part to the UK, repair the thing, ship it back. I'll still be able to get away with about a quarter of the price. Could you please let me know? :icon_thumright: or :sadlike:

I had mine changed but not at this place, they replaced it with a new one from Audi in Germany. Apparently they are set to the car in Germany. It did need programming and setting up too so not sure if yours will need to be done? If it does then youll be stuck with the car on your drive and will have to get it lifted on a flatbed and too a specialist in SA. I would check to make sure it won't need reprogramming before removing it and sending it. I had the exact same problem as you too.

    Thanks Will89,
    A quote from their websit

" We can now rebuild your Multitronic gearbox ECU with no need for any programming work to be done afterwards. Just plug in and go!"

    I just hope it's true.

    Hi Will89,
The ECU is packed and ready to go. FedEx is picking it up tomorrow morning. It should be about two week before I have it back. Will post the result and costs then. Thanks for your input.

It's been two weeks now and the Audi is going again. CPU repaired and no need for coding, just plug and drive. Yippee. So far so good. The shipping to the UK took 3 days, repair of the ECU 2 days and the shipping back to SA 7 days (hey what can I say,its Africa). The cost in total was 350 pounds vs. 2300 pounds. I can recommend them. Great service. Great turn around time. Great saving. Thank you to everyone that replied to this thread!!
