Future Registrations

has anyone got any ideas what the dvla are gonna do with license plates when we get to 2009? Unless im not thinking straight, arent we gonna need another digit to represent month and year of registration??? Or are they gonna change the months the new vehicles are released

etc.

The system is simply the last two digits of the year for the March plate and add 50 for the Sep plate. This will work until Sep 2050 as the Mar 2051 "51" plate would clash with the original "51" from back in Sep 2001. At this point they'll probably just reverse them and start again with numbering.
