hi does a fmic make any difference to a 96 20v turbo AEB engine
Only by giving extra cooling to the air going through the turbo don't think u actually see any gains just better when being driven hard

You may get less pressure drop at high boost
Without other mods it's pointless. Once remapped/chipped it's useful as I found my charge air temps were very high on the dyno
hi mine is remappad, and i honestly have to say that putting the intercooler on was one of the best mods ive done since, no loss of power even on a sunny hot day, looks the sh!te and is more more thing to mod lol
I think mine is remapped or chip it's side by side with a astra Vxr in 1st 2nd and 3rd
It's definately been on the receiving end of some tweeking to match an Ashtray VXR. Mine was making 190bhp ish last time I tussled with one and he was still edging away from me
Ya think some things been done to it. It does shift I had a Vectra v6 gsi before the a4 and the Audi kills it. goin to get it on the rollers at The end of the month I'm quite interested to see wot it is
Aeb a4 was my first audi can be a surprisingly quick car. id say a push bike beat vectra gsi. my current car a primera (not standard) out runs a vectra v6
Wildlife outruns a Vectra V6 to be fair, exceedingly over rated car (and extremely unpleasant **shudders**)
AIR DOES NOT GO THROUGH TURBO AFTER INTERCOOLER,
THE FMIC IS DESIGNED TO REDUCE THE AIR TEMP FROM THE TURBO, COOLER AIR MORE BANG FOR YA BUCK, I RECKON MUST OF GIVEN 5-10BHP EASILY

if your running stock levels, dont bother,you dont need to fmic, as the stock cooler is more then capable
if you looking at going any thing over 220bhp then change it.
but saying this you can well change to a fmic for Â£200 with a kit from ebay. if you wish, as it wont hurt performance and adds to the turbo agressive look of a big fmic

you wont see any performance increase to stock bhp. other then on summer days. and in the cold you will see bigger gains because the ambient temp is cooler, so charge temp will be lower to begin with and the ic will be more efficient
