Front-mount intercooler???

Hi guys,

What are your opinions on front-mount intercoolers? Who makes a reputable one? Also, are there any that don't involve cutting the front of the car for fitment? I would prefer NOT to do that if possible. Or do you think that the stock side-mounts are effective enough that a front-mount would not be worth it? Sorry for all the questions, but then again, this IS the best place to ask!

Greddy makes a nice one for about $700 - $1000 depending on size

I couldn't tell you which FMICs fit better or which offer better flow, but the idea with having one is that it gets LOTS of cold air at the front of the car. So it is more effective even if it was the same size as the SMIC. If you go too big you are going to have more turbo lag.

Hmmmm...about that turbo lag. If your running a K03 you will not notice any lag. Have you cleaned out your stock intercooler yet? if not take it out flush it out with a hope and then get a bucket and fill it with 80% mineral spirits and 20% water. seal up one end of the intercooler and pour the mixture in the intercooler. close the other end and let it sit for 30 mi. come back and flip it over and let it sit. then rinse it out one more time and let it dry for the remainder of the day.
