Decided to get my front pads changed yesterday but got told my discs were lipped and needed changing aswell.

GSF have quoted £29 + vat for Brembo discs which are supposed . Are these any good?

I've gone for the stock pads so was wondering if this disc and pad combo would be ok.

    thanks

that price is for one disk i think gsf price disks as each , if not £29 is very cheap , stock pads stock disk were good enough for audi so in normal use they will be fine , if you like too push on a little its a good time to uprate i used ebc grooved disks and greenstuff pads but most people hate greenstuff pads, i think their no better than standard pads but give off a lot less brake dust

just checked vag parts. standard discs are 120.46 +vat a pair.

Brembos are looking cheap even if they are £29 each.

Am I right in thinking they need to 312mm?

I have these exact discs on my car but the 288mm version Brembo MAX - They are very decent for road use, I've had no issues whatsoever and had them on for quite a while now the only thing that I suggest is get some decent pads to go with it.

It's not so much personal opinion that makes everyone hate Greenstuff, its more to do with the lack of adhesion between the pad and the backing plate. They're no use if the pads fall off...

Besides, EBC don't recommend them for cars over 200bhp now.

i've had that happen once when my piston was sticking , as for 200bhp i'm well under that do they have the same problems with red and yellow stuff their made for high performance 200 + bhp

I haven't heard of any other EBC pads coming away from the backing plate, only the Greenstuff. But if the company has QA/QC like that then I don't trust any of their products. And as for their 200bhp claim, what's the difference between an S3 going hard on the brakes, and a A3 1.8TQS braking just as hard from the same speed? Same weight, inertia, etc.
