Hello all, finally got my car... haven't taken a pictue of yet right enough...

I've got a black 4 rings badge to replace the chrome one on the front grill. What's the easiest way to get the chrome one off? Anyone done this without removing the grill... ie and front bumper

I tried to prize it off by sticking a thin piece of metal between the badge and the grill, but there is no room

Appreciate any words of wisdom :icon_thumright:

Hi mate, i tried replacing mine without taking the grill off but was a complete mission, in the end the whole bumper had to come off, here's a pic of the back of the audi badge where all the clips are. should give you an idea on how to get it off without taking the bumper off. hope it helps ;)

Why not just take the grill out of the bumper and then the rings out of the grill?

From what I've read, grill out without taking off the front bumper isn't easy and you can easily damage it.

I'm wondering if removing the cover on the bottom of the car would allow enough access... I may try this tonight to see.

Thanks for the info/comments EvolutionV :icon_thumright:

yh its best to take the front bumper of trust me there is a tiney little crew right behind the numberplate block that you cant get to unless you take the front bumber off then then the bumber off take the grill off then at the back of the badge you need to bend the pind straight as that is what holds the badge in..

    hope that helps

With a bit of force the badge will come off without taking the bumper off or removing the grill, I managed it on mine. I ended up using a knife out of the kitchen draw it worked a treat. If you look at the picture in the post above you will see where the clips are. It needs a bit of force but it will come out. Did you get a badge sprayed or buy one ready painted??

Sprayed it. There is so little room, but i'll give it another go, just don't want to mark grill.

    cheers!

Used Audi Black Gloss from Halfrauds.
Rubbed it down with a light grade of sandpaper, primered, glossed, clear coated. Looks good, although it would look better on my car than my kitchen work top

Had another go at getting the little blighter off last night, no joy.
