I did mine at the weekend along with the rest of the suspension and bushes so my subframe was off anyway. But looking at it I dont see another way to do it. Its not that big a job to take the subframe off though. Took me and my mate 10 mins maybe to get it off. The car was on a ramp though

i just unbolted the rear subframe bolts and swung it down rather than removing it.

Yeah, well the thing is i am just concerned about the weight of it and the fact i will have it on axle stands so not alot of room.

How many bolts did you take off to do this and when you swung it down what did you then to get the arb off?

    Thanks

    Hi leecs3,

any chance you can give me more of an idea the process you went through such as did you just remove the rear bolts and that's it or did you loosen the front bolts and then what did you do after that?

Just want to make sure i am aware of what's involved so i can make sure i have all tools, etc.

Also are the bolts very tight and will i need a torque wrench?

its a while ago but undo all the subframe bolts but leave the ones at the front in to hold the weight but completely remove the rear bolts so the subframe swings down. Undo the steering rack bolts as the arb needs to come out between the rack and the subframe.
