for those with no MAP boost sensor

    I finally got round to doing a software release to support AGU engines.

    I calculate the boost pressure this way, boost = ((MAF x 53.5)/RPM) - 1

    It seems to be pretty accurate when tested on my BAM engine comparing the real MAP with the calculated values.

    The pictures below show two similar 4th gear runs from off throttle at 40mph the WOT for about 4 or 5 seconds, the top picture is a plot of the calculated boost, the picture below is an almost identical run showing the actual bost.

    Using the calculated method gives addition vaccum information not available from the MAP sensor as it is before the throttle plate.

    The video below shows it in use using the "agu calculated metod".

    Is that "pressure" absolute?

    1.4bar seems pretty high unless its absolute pressure, in which case it should be called "manifold pressure" rather than "boost pressure"?

    How much are we looking at for the B5 vent mounted version?

    Aragorn- 1.4bar is not even nearly enough boost ;)

    well i guess its maybe not a stock car, but its what 20psi?

    Sounds high to me, but maybe its a normal figure for a BAM with a remap?

    Ye, and a standard car runs about 0.5 bar hence the question.

    In vagcom it shows absolute pressure, so 0.5bar of boost shows as 1500 milibar manifold pressure.

    Watching the video I'm guessing that it's not a tuned/mapped car so it must be absolute pressure?
