Lots of newer cars have this including the B7 it is helpfull to give you some light while walking to your door. My old BMW had it all you had to do was flash the lights while the key was in the ignition and they would stay on for about 30 seconds. very helpfull in the dark.

Thin kyou're possible misunderstanding what we are talking about here.

I totally agree that people who drive around with fogs on are idiots who don't mind blinding everyone else just so they think they look 'cool'. Driving with fog light on is for foggy conditions only and not just a bit misty but proper fog.

The coming home light feature we are talking about here is a feature that when you unlock your car with the fog and the ambient light is low then the front fogs and rear tail lights are illuminated until you open a door, then they go out. It also works when you remove the key from the ignition when it's dark, the fogs stay on for about 30 seconds to help you find your way to the front door.

It's a good feature if you ask me.

I think its part of the Auto Lights option.....In a really dark car park I love it when I open the car up and the fog lights come on ...same when I lock up car.....obviously works via the light sensor that sets the backlight on the RNS-e and Autolights....really good feature...

...and yes I also agree with the views on Fog Lights being used to "look cool" - I just wish the police would pull the twats over and dish out a few fines !

Talking about flashing people to let them know they have their fogs on.

The other day I actually flashed my headlights at a chap commingout of my local Tesco store because he had forgotten to turn his lights on. I was being considerate or so I thought.

He turned his car around and followed me into the main Tesco car park and then gave me a mouthfull of abuse. Apparently he knew he hadn't put his lights on but was just about to.

    Nice!
