Flashing glow plug light, slight loss of power, lumpy...

My glow plug light has started flashing recently, paired with a lumpy idle, slight loss of power and a bit juddery in 6th on the motorway.

Any idea what this could be? I'm a bit worried about it.

Year of car, 140 or 170 bhp, all info relevant when asking for help.
 
I reckon it could be your glow plugs.

Are you having trouble starting in the cold mornings, though? That's normally the first indication of glow plug issues.

Nope, starts first time every time. I've been using it all winter, 6.30am starts, no issues.

i have been doing lots of short runs, could this affect it?
 
Ideally it needs scanning, but when was the fuel filter changed last?

Glow plugs have no relevance when driving at all only starting.

Will arrange to get it scanned, no idea on fuel filter, only had it since June, will check the history when I get home.
 
Also an injector cleaner may be worth a go, although they're not amazing it may help, egr/imf clean, various options, but scan 1st :)
 
N8 is sometimes down there, but maybe ask if he knows someone in Bristol with VCDS, say NHN said to PM him :)

All I can say is, if its showing a fault, then obviously somethings had a problem or has a problem, sorry I don't support counterfeit users.

OK, fair enough, thanks.

I'll get it to a garage or find someone with an official cable, N8 couldn't do it until the end of the month for me and I think I need to get it sorted before then.
 
Got it sorted at the garage today, the juddering was coming from both rear tyres being out of shape.
Glow plug fault cleared, will be taking it back if ti comes on again.
