flashing fuel gauge light?

Hi, I have just purchased a 2009 Audi A5 Cabriolet (2.0 Tfsi), and I have a couple of questions that I am hoping someone could help me with.

1.) I have noticed that the lighting on the fuel gauge keeps flickering. Does anyone know what this is likely to be? and if it is an expensive fix?

2.) Every time I start the car, the radio mutes and there is a beeping noise which lasts for a few seconds, then it stops and the radio unmutes. Does anyone know what this is for or what it means?

Mine mutes and beeps when I leave the keys in the slot and open the door. Have you another key you can try? Maybe a battery issue in the key?
