I'm fitting new front brake pads tomorrow. Discs are fine, so just pads needed. Once I'm done, do I need to do a bedding in procedure? I've read a few guides online (repeated braking to increase pad temperature etc.) Or do I just drive normally/carefully for a while?

    They're B5 S4 brakes.

Dont brake harshly for the first 300 or so miles.
This will allow the pads to slowly match the surface of the disk.

Thanks for that. Changed my dad's (Octavia) in 45min, then couldn't even get the first bolt out for my car, so it's going to have to go to the garage, I think access would be a lot easier if you're underneath, which sadly I can't manage with the tools I have!
