as above guys im looking to replace the wifes single din head unit with an aftermarket double din and i realise i need the heater controls than fit lower down but do i need to mod the frame behind the dash holding it all in and are the new heater controls plug and play?

You can trim down single din heater controls to fit but you need a double din cage/frame fitted which if i remember correctly is a centre console out job.

As above. Needs a new cage, stereo and heater controls out, centre console out and the cage should unscrew(was a while since I did it) you will need to either replace the heater controls with those from a double din car or mark out and trim the sides down with a cutting tool. You will also need to trim abit off the centre console for it double din heater panel to fit

Cheers guys, that post was a great read!
Doesn't look too bad to do, can I ask are the double din cages expensive to buy from tps?

As above.....a lot cheaper from TPS unless you have a car breaker near by and most prob get it for £5 to £10

Good old eBay pays to check prices before you buy
