I am about to fit a used rear caliper and just wondered what the order of play is? i.e fit caliper, wind piston all the way in, bleed then press the pedal so it makes contact with the pads i presume handbrake mechanism get's set automatically (pads are are about half worn).

Thank you

Ian

make sure the bleed nipple is free on the new caliper before fitting.

clamp the flexi, remove old caliper fitting, replace with a new washer when fitting.

if your fitting old pads, no need to wind all the way back, enought to get the pads in.

then bleed as normal.

check seals before fitting. and make sure the handbrake latch sits same as the other side, sounds daft but i replaced one of my calipers recentlyand the cable catch is higher.
so cable pulls different lengths on the hand brake it self
