Hello I am not sure if this is the right place to ask questions, so if I am in the wrong place I appolgise. I am going to swop my flat bottom steering wheel on my 2011 Audi TT for an identical steering wheel that has multi functions I have got the new wiring loom but wondered if there is any coding needed uising my vcds. I have no problem changing the loom or steering wheel but any help or advice with the coding will be most welcome and an idiot guide would be even better.

Hi, I have recently done this swap. The physical swap is easy but you will need some recoding to make the steering wheel controls operative. You also need the correct air bag slip ring and controller module. My car already had factory fitted cruise control and so already had the correct parts. If you haven't got cruise control, you may not have the correct parts fitted. Obviously care must be taken when removing and handling the air bag including disconnecting the battery. I had the recoding done by an independent Audi/VW specialist and so can't help with the details. Hope this helps.

Hi thanks for the reply. I have cruise and have fitted the new loom and steering wheel. I was just hoping to get a pointer regarding the coding as I have my own vcds.
