Hi just came back to Audi after small period, now have b5 A4 1999 1.8se

Bought cheaply From a mechanic but


1:
I locked doors via central locking (no remote locking) and noticed boot wouldnt lock, so locked boot with key, as you would not I cant get boot unlocked? the key turns the lock I push the button but it wont open, have tried it with central locking from both front doors also but to no avail. HELP

2:
Temp gauge doesnt move at all. Same prob as had in my 8l A3 so after reading few posts CTS & Thermostaty, Job done?

3:
I have a very small knocking noise from front over bumps, Drop links?

4:
Airbag light on. how do I get it off is this a MOT failure?

5: interior tatty oily dog hairs etc door card tops bit scratched can these be repaired or easier to replace?

i dont think it is, however you will need a VAG.COM tool or find someone who has one to find what is causing the warning repair the fault which could be poor airbag contact under the seats. then run the VAG.com again to clear the errors.
also worth noting is when the airbag light is on ALL the airbags are disabled.

Rear of the center console, just open the ash tray cover and remove the small cover next to the ash tray.

I've just cleaned up the interior of a B5 and my local scrap yard came in very handy.
