Basically, have my eye on a FBMFSW off a s-tronic TTS with paddles.

What i wanted to know is what do i need to change to fit it to my car (2007 A3 S-line S-tronic) which currently is not a MFSW. i know a module is required for it which part no is required. What else do i need?

I have tried search but i cant find the exactly what i need.

    Thanks

    hi mate,
if you have the S-tronic then the likely hood is that you already have the correct module. the module part numbers are 8P0 953 549 F.
you will need obviously the steering wheel and the mfsw airbag connector which is a cable that connects the airbag to the mfsw buttons. if you get a steering wheel complete with the airbag the cables should come with it anyway.

where abouts are you? I can help you install it if you need?

    Ash,

If he already has the s-tronic wheel, you are correct he already has the correct module.
Also he will already have the correct airbag harness on his current airbag, as the MFSW controls run through the same harness as the tip tronics functions.
Even if he sourced an airbag for the new wheel he could use his existing harness from his current s-tronic wheel.

    Hope this makes sense. Lol

If I have understood properly the only things I need is the airbag and steering wheel and all my existing wiring will fit straight onto the new wheel basically plug and play? Will I need a different slip ring or anything extra?

No new slip ring is needed. I am pretty confident that the harness for the standard airbag is the same as the airbag from the FBMFSW, so you would just have to disconnect the harness from your old and connect to the new.

Maybe someone will be along soon just to clarify what I have said.

Cant quite recall tbh, but the spade connectors for grounding may be different for the fbmfsw to the standard shield airbag style wheel, shows completely different part numbers in etka & the tip connectors also have known to be different with fb being white & the shield stype being black, but given audi's track record they could of changed yet again, lunacy for sure.
