Hi,

I have a '98 A4 Avant B5 and have completed the interior swap including centre console etc.

I have the fog light module which I intend to wire in in the next few weeks...

But my question is...

On the B5 non facelift, there is a separate interior temperature monitor as in the pic below which fits on to the old HVAC control unit by means of a rubber hose...

On the facelift unit, this is already integrated into the control unit...

However, what do I do with either this unit, or the wiring which goes to this unit?

Or,

Can I just disconnect and dis-guard this one and if so, what do I do with the wiring to the unit in the picture?

Just a 12v+ and an earth...

Is it required to make the unit hold a constant temp when on Auto, or has the new unit got all the wiring it needs and can hold the temp without me doing anything with the old wiring?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks...

What I did previously was leave the original sensor connected with the hose feeding from the inside of the car, but the temp control has been all over the place.

Will leave it disconnected and see how things go....

Thanks.
