Facelift Foglights!?

Hello all!
I am currently undergoing a face lift from my 2004 double grill A3 to the single grill from 2005+ ( not SLine - the one with the bump strips)
At first i thought the fog light surrounds would be a straight swap because they look the same, but they don't seem to want to fit.
Then i noticed the part of the bumper holding them in there is a big difference!
Am i being stupid or did they change the fog light fitment ?

With mine I used my original fogs and the newer 05-08 grills that look exactly the same. Got one spare if your interested

£5 brand new. I bought a pair and one of the tabs was damaged so they sent me another, I just used the one with a tab missing. I'll check its ok tomorrow as it's still in the wrapping it came in

Hi, new guy here....
can anyone guide me how to change the front of a3 2003 to 2005 original single grid? i think the 2003 hood doesnt match whit the bumper so i have to change both, but the lights, do i have to change as well? does the hood close in the same place? Thanks a lot in advance
