After hearing about so many problems ( i know that you never about ppl who have had no problems but only people who do lol) but have any of you had any experience with WarrantyWise???

After doing a quote on their website, it was roughly £600 for the year but all parts included and even wear and tear items?

Iv got a feeling that they will put down the blame to a wear and tear item and refuse to pay out such as things like gearbox and clutch and so on

So can anyone give some advice or advise on what warranty to get if any!! LoL

and if possible give some scenarios of what has been repaired under warranty such as these :)

    Cheers guys :D

Can't advise on warrantywise (who are they underwritten by?) but I had an Auto Protect policy when I first bought my car 2 years back... The alternator pulley broke a year after I bought it, resulting in the alternator belt wrapping itself round the cambelt, and in short a new engine! Fortunately this was covered by warranty and I was spared the 5k+ for the new engine.

If they say they cover for wear and tear and the item is on the list of parts covered there is very little they can say to not pay out as long as your car isn't modded I would think. I have just started a new policy with 'warranty direct' £35 per month rolling policy, covers wear and tear also but only after 90 days of having the policy to avoid people taking the piss clearly. I'd say that a warranty is worth having. Always check who underwrite the policy though and see what they are like from reviews with regards to paying up in the event the worse does happen.

I haven't heard too much about the 1.8T in the way of faults but the 2.0TDi/3.2 V6 and 2.0TFSi all have their own niggles and problems that become evident with time so I'd say best to get something that gives you a chance if it does all go pear shaped!

I had an Auto Protect warranty and the head cracked, and they refused to pay out, even the turbo hose blowing wasn't covered as it was a hose.

Would never get another warranty!, well not from them, they were rude all the time on the phone.

I have a policy with Warranty Direct and have had it since Jan 2010. Just renewed this Jan. No claims last year.

Wear and tear kicks in after 90 days after first taking out the policy but is immediate after renewal.

My car is MY2006 with 72k on the clock. Just had turbo replaced last week at a VAG independent specialist which cost £750

Warranty Direct has approved the claim and will pay under the terms of the policy, in my case 80% of the parts price and 100% labour. I have yet to receive the cheque (because I went to my VAG garage and had to pay up front) but have no doubt they will pay.

My premium for the first year was £310 (I did not claim anything ) and my premium for 2011-2012 is £330, so i have paid £640 unitil Jan 2012

Assuming they honour their commitments, which I have no reason to believe they won't, I have a new turbo, guaranteed for a further 12 months, and cover for most other major items until policy renewal in 2012

    Good deal I reckon ?!!
