Just crossed my mind after looking at some test Euro 5, 6 and 7 engines will companies still be able to increase horsepower above the manufacturers settings without causing the engines to derate 40-60%.

The engines are and will be working in a very small window for temps and nox and particulates and chipping is gonna send em way out in some cases.

Will OBD 1b and its future relatives tell porkys at every MOT and land you with a dirty great big fine for breaking (if poss) emission limits.

Typically one of our big turbos has just gone through an horrendous failure rate it was only good for a speed of 520 metres/sec on the compressor wheel we now have one capable of 540 metres/sec and the probs disappeared (20 metres per second) you dont need much more exhaust energy to achieve that increase.

In future S3's may be getting left for dead by your average TRUCK.

Will the emission boards or the chippers win ??????????????????????????
