Engine question.

My engine has finally given up after oil pump failure. It is an APT engine. Question is can i buy one from say a Passat as long as its code APT. Is there anything else i should be aware of ?.

Yep the passat engine will swap in no problems.

Change the oil pump on the replacement engine

Was going to do that and a new clutch. Anything else easy with the engine out of the way?

timing belt and water pump, and a new thermostat...
