Ive noticed my A4 sounds loud compared to other diesel cars.Is this normal or is there a way to quieten it down abit,it sounds like a ****** transit van in the morning.

All Audi Diesel's are noisy for the first minute or so from cold because of lube... on the self adjusting over head cam system.
Blocked egr valve can cause extra noise, ecu losing the plot can also cause noise due to timing being out-Disconect battery,wait about 10 mins re-connect and this should reset the ecu by default.
