Drove my car earlier today was fine nothing different, got home and had to pop back out turned car on an noticed the engine management light stayed on as i was driving off, i can see no difference in the car nothing has changed and still drives fine.

Should i be worried about this, i can still drive the car right?

Also are the next steps i should take, could it be expensive?

    Thanks

Next step is to get it scanned for the fault code.

As above, use the VCDS map and look for somebody close to you to scan it

Seconded, get it scanned. My engine light came on and the code was a faulty sensor. Took it off and cleaned some dust out, sorted.

Well guys here's the update i have the code P2279 and it says Intake air system leak, for some reason i don't think it's the air but a petrol leak as i can still smell petrol even though the garage said they had fixed it!

The code i have can that mean anything else?

Brilliant so i could be right by saying it could be a petrol leak? as it says check all intake systems and it seems to be the fuel pipe leading into the engine?

Something is definitely split as i can hear it hissing when i put my bonnet after i turned my engine off just trying to find out which one it is will be the annoying part!

That looks like a breather pipe you could get from audi or tps.

Tps are trade part supplies if you go to audi they will show you a exploded diagram of your engine and hoses the part number is probably on the pipe

I had a look on there but you have to sign up to see parts etc :( anywhere else to get parts? rather try get them from somewhere else other than get robbed by audi!

Try them, some things aren't as expensive as you'd think. The PN should be on that hose somewhere mate

Well the pipe has snapped at both ends top and half way down the inlet (not sure how) i'm assuming the part number will be on the top?

Another question, will i be doing some serious damage to the engine if i keep driving it like this? this is only temporary until i get a part sorted
