Engine management light after replacing brakes ?

    i have been viewing few 04+ 2.0 TDI a3 and went to see one last night it had the engine management light on the dash that the fella told me he has recently done the brakes and the cable wasnt either connected or connected wrong

    could this be true or would this be more of a problem

    Surely the dash would display the brake light?!?

    done a search off the warning lights and it says

    Brake pads worn- Just needs telling me they are all new pads around just

    lol always get abit paranoid when getting new car lol

    eh? Engine management light is different from brake warning light.

    The yellow icon that looks like an engine means there is a fault with some componant regarding the engine like : coil packs, EGR valve, Lambda sensors etc.

    The brakes are a red icon with a circle in the middle. This can mean pads worn or have been & the sensors hasnt been replaced or connected. Also low brake fluid.
