engine check light

    i have a 2000 audi a4 1.8tq can some one tell me if the engine check light is ment to come on when ignition is first turned on as in most cars. the dails are white and have other symbols that don't belong to the a4 b5 so may be for other model but are factory fitted thanks for any help:confused:

    Hi, the light doesn't come with the ignition or even if there is a fault / active fault on our model of A4 TQS.

    If you had a list of faults on your ECU and you cleared them the ones that have disapeared were non active (fault isnt still present) and the ones that have stayed on are active / still causing a fault code / faulty componants on the engine, hope this helps as im ***** at explaining !!
