Hi all,

Anyone been able to enable TPMS on a 59 (2009) plate A3 ABS ECU 1K0 907 379 AD ?

It is using long coding and the long code helper didn't help.

Scan of the info required below.

Thanks.

Paul

Have you actually installed anything to make it work, like the wiring, button etc yet?

Cant just code it in.

Hi Mate,

Yes the owner has carried out all of the hardware install, he just doesn't have VCDS and so asked for my help as he works local to me during the week.

The coding instructions that we found relates to short coded ABS modules, his module is long coding enabled, I tried the Long Coding Helper and it didn't offer any help and gave a message about VW online coding system ?

We did managed to code other changes for the Beep with lock / un-lock and comfort options though, so the evening wasn't entirely wasted.

Thanks.

Paul

His abs controller has long coding, urmm thats a new one on me, maybe MY10 has that now, any screen dumps we can see please.

Sorry didn't take any screen dumps all I have is a full scan, parts of which I posted above.

He won't be around until 24th May as he is off on a course, if you really need a screen dump.

Was just hoping to get the resolution in the meantime so that when we next meet - we can code the module.

Anyway let me know if you need that screen dump and if so what you need to see.

Thanks.

Paul

Yes screen dumps would be nice to see as I havnt heard of long coding used for abs controllers, so enlightening stuff for me & others.

I have forwarded link to this thread to RT, see if they get involved.

I cant get into the label file this has used, as its encrypted now.

Nothing really new here since those modules are in use for quite a while now. If you check the long coding assist, the details on how to enable TPMS (PR-7K6) are already there. In other words, you may not have checked all available bytes for the option in question.

That was quick, thanks Bruce/Seb, yeah saw the label file afterwards, so must be already included, so as you rightly say the assist should advise.

I tried the Long Coding Helper and it didn't offer any help and gave a message about VW online coding system ?

Although this does raise a ? as he says didnt help & got that message, any ideas for future ref?

Thanks.

Since neither we nor you can answer the question where exactly the original posters problem is, we have to wait for him to get back to us and tell if he really had looked through all bytes shown by the long coding assist.

Sorry, I must admit that I didn't scroll across every byte in the Long Coding helper as it was devoid of information on the first few bytes and had the message refering to the VW online system for coding.

Can we just confirm that had I scrolled across further that one of the bytes further to the right would have had the option for TPMS ?

Thanks.

Paul

Yes, I can confirm exactly that - as I tried to point out earlier already.

The message by the long coding assist you referred to is...

Only Limited Coding Information is available for this Control Module.
If you happen to need additional Details please contact Support@Ross-Tech.com
Coding is normally done using the Factory Tool and Software-Version-Management (SVM).

...meaning that we do have only some but not all information.

When scrolling through the individual bytes you should find...

Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS/PR-7K6) installed

Yeap I'd agree there, limited info to assist with as such.

All is becoming clearer now huh, so you didnt check all bytes, curiosity sometimes doesnt kill the cat lol.

Thanks for that :slap:

I appologise for wasting your time Sebastian, seeing that message for the first few bytes and my google search not finding anything on the subject of Long Coding on the ABS module - caused me to back out of it and wait for clarification.

Even though I had a full scan I am always cautious when I am not sure about the coding, especially when it is someone else's car. I'm a bit more blasé with my own car.

So I will arrange for him to come back and then make sure that I check every byte in the Long Code Helper.

Regards,

Paul

:nyah:

Good point, but just checking other bytes wouldnt have affected the car mate, but yes coding may do, but as its an RT label file & already available, then a note of coding currently & subsequent change would be safe as can swap it back if any issues.

Right Phill came round last night and I was able to code his ABS to enable TPMS.

He now gets the TPMS warning light show with the rest of the warnings when you turn the ignition on.

However the button doesn't seem to work, I can't see it activate in the ABS measuring blocks and it doesn't function as it should.

We checked that he has a ground and +12 at the switch and the button works fine.

So he will check the ABS end of the wire, however does anyone have access to the wiring diagrams ?

The reason that I ask is that he was pretty sure that the pin is inserted OK into position 27 as his is manual and doesn't have Hill Hold. Just want to check that as position 27 was empty that it is the correct position on his ABS ECU.

Thanks.

Paul

Whats his engine code, gearbox & abs controller a mk60 or mk70?

Cause it shows for a random a3 2009 as pin 7 for mk70 & pin 35 for mk60

Hi mate,

Don't have the gearbox code but it is a 6 speed manual engine and ABS As below :-

There's your answer then, wrong pin & its a mk60 controller so pin 35 according to elsa.

Thanks a lot mate, above and beyond service again :beerchug: - I will pass this data onwards.

Just to close this thread, I had confirmation from Phill last night that moving the cable to location 35 and TPMS is now functioning

All,

This 'mod' has been one hell of a learning experience getting it to work (just simple things such as how to removed the battery/glove box etc.). Without the kind help I've received here, it would simply be a button hanging out of the dash that did nothing (other than light up)! Thank you all, especially Paul, for your help:thumbsup:

I've taken photos of what I did and, as it differs slightly from other 'how-tos' I'll post it over the weekend for the benefit of others.

VMT,
Phill

Hi there I have an Audi S3 DSG ΜΥ2010. Ιt has the following details:

Address 03: ABS Brakes (-----) Labels: 1K0-907-379-60EC1F.clb

No fault code found.

It does not have Hill-hold but it has something else called brake off assistant which basically is the same thing. I have two questions for you knowing people:

a) In which pin should I connect? 35 or 26?
b) In Vag-Com in the long code helping, I do not get any help in any bytes. I proceed with the arrows to all bytes but I do not get any hints below in order to change anything.
Because I am not an experienced user I am not sure if I should do anything in the security access before changing the long code.
I attach some pictures for your reference regarding Vag-Com:

Thank you NHN.
Do you know what byte should we change to make it work in the abs module?

Angelo

The one that says tpms, is your vcds genuine?
