As some of you may know i put the eibach sportline springs in car.

Once in handling was great and much better ride. I let them settle now for about 1.5-2months.

In last 2weeks the ride is awful.
The front drivers side and rear drivers wheels side in arch perfect.

On passenger side the car sits 3/4 of an inch higher and you can clearly see car sitting humped over to drivers side. The Car is handling very bad at front. When i go around corners its awful and feels like car is going to slide.

Ive checked wheels, tyre pressure, wheel nuts and car has been in with VW Audi specialist this morning. He said shocks, springs and all suspension looks and feels 100%.

only thing he thinks it can be is the passenger front spring is faulty.

ANyone any advice or same problem????

    Thanks

Shouldn't really have problems with the eibachs, has the spring broke maybe? Worn bushes or maybe ARB links?

One of my Eibachs broke after about 3,000 miles, couldn't beleive it, best looked after most cosseted car ever!
If they are still under warranty and it's quite a good warranty from memory, they will replace the pair, either backs of fronts but you have to either pay for the replacements up front or take them off post them away, wait till the replacemetns come and re-fit, I did the first option, still a PITA though and you get nothing for the labour side of things, which as a DIY mechanic p'd me off and it would have been nice to get some feedback as to what went wrong, but nothing!

    sounds **** mate.

I got reply from seller saying is it right or left of car lower and did i check numbers on springs. Does the springs have numbers to say where they go on car? I gave seller all details of my car to ensure i get the correct springs...

Its the drivers front and back that is about an inch lower. so what way will they replace that.lol give me a front and back spring for drivers side? lol.

My machanic said he thinks the passenger side is the problem and pussing the car over onto drivers side.Hopefully get another reply soon from seller they seem reputable enought on ebay. Heres hoping.

If the let me buy another new set and send the old ones back for refund il do that if now il prob get them out and put H&R springs in.

It does bring to memory Damian's cautionary post on your original thread.

Fingers crossed you get a solution without too much cost or inconvenience.

Yeah your 100% right mate that's why I thought when I wrote in here
Here te is their lasted reply which I think is bit ****

    Seller's message:
'it is possible, that there are wrong springs in the paket. Another reason could be, that some cars are lower on one side since they where produced. We had this problem a few time ago. In this case, you can't change the springs, because it will reccurence again and again. '

To me this is just palming me off.

Try swapping the spring side to side and see if the low side goes with the spring

Eibach would replace 2 fronts or 2 rears, if there is a problem with a front and a rear I am sure they would do all four. I rmember checking to see what warranty I had and couldn't find anything. What you need to do is search as if you are thinking of buying for the first time, then you will find all the warranty stuff is all over the place. You really need to check if they have broken, from Eibach's perspective they will apparently want to check what has gone wrong (unfortunately they never passed this on to me) but neither did they try to say it was something I had done in the fitting or a problem with the other components on the car, so they are a good honest company. I am not aware of them being numbered, may be something to do with your car needing lower at the back than front, mine was all the same, don't really know though.
With regard to your dealers resonse; LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL, best laugh I have had for a while :) The some cars are lower at one side then the other from the factory, certainly not Audis, maybe a Daewoo Matiz or something, then again, they are all made by robots these days so no it's just Bullsh1t and the broken English doesn't inspire confidence, sorry!
If the worst comes to the worst I would E.Mail Eibach direct, if you have some proof of when you purchased them and it's wihin the warranty period I don't see why they wouldn't deal with it.
    All the best.

Thank for the advice mate. Ive contacted Eibach in Germany and Uk also. Lets hope they get back with a solution or what i should do.

The seller must think im a muppet to say some cars are lower than others...

Eibach have a good reputation in my experience, I was disapponted that one of mine broke but they weren't too bad to deal with and when I bought my new car I did think about using them again. H&R came up a few times as simliar quality etc but on A3s what they provide is -35mm which is the same drop as an S3, so I went for genuine Audi S3 springs, been on a whole 2 weeks and they're fine too!

    Here is eibach uk reply.
    1:
    Hello,

Unfortunately the seller is your point of contact and that is who your warranty is with as they are who you purchased the kit from, so they really are the people who you need to speak to with regards to resolving this issue.

However, as a simple check to see if the fault does lie with the springs or not you can swap them from left to right – that way if the car stays lower on the passenger side the you know it is not an issue with the springs currently fitted to the passenger side, as if it was then the driver side would then be lower.

I hope that helps, if you need anything else just let us know.

    2:
That’s correct, essentially if the problem follows the spring, ie if the passenger side is too low, you swap them and now the driver’s side is too low then you know it is probably the springs.

It does happen on quite a lot of vehicles, and 99% of the time it is because the vehicle does not sit level from the factory. Most people only notice this once they have lowered the car and therefore pay more attention to the arch gap, it is also harder to tell discrepancies when the arch gap is larger as per the standard ride height. Cars very rarely come out of the factory with even corner weight distribution across the axels, in fact it almost never happens on domestic vehicles as it is just not practical. The springs (both Audi OE and Eibach) are not handed, or specific to the left and right corners so if the corner loads are different from left to right then it will not sit with the same ride height from left to right.

This is not to say it is definitely not the springs, obviously we cannot rule that out at this stage so to swap them left to right is the easiest ‘fault finding’ test.

will see Machanic today but gona cost £20 per corner to swap lol

    eibach German first reply:
    Dear Ruairi Mc Eleney,

unfortunately it is very difficult to give you a reason for this problem, as I do not have any information about your car.

The usual way is that you have to contact the shop where you ordered the Kit. The dealer need to help and assist you. If the problem still remains, the dealer will contact us und provide us all need documents. After that our engineers can check the problem.

Therefore please be so kind and contact again the dealer. It is not possible to operate the claim about us directly.

Congaxted seller again waitin on reply.

Eibach UK's reply is, at least, of some help, in that it does offer a sensible explanation of what can sometimes happen, and some practical suggestions on what to do next. It is also correct when it says that your remedy lies with the retailer from whom you bought the goods. That is pretty much the law everywhere you go.

Got car in ramp. Got part number com spring and emailed it to him. Sent 3 emails today and not one reply from him lol here's hoping.

eibach uk seem good to help so emailed them part number also too see what they say. It's going to cost £80 to get springs changed about so is rather get new set and fitted than paying to get fitted 3 times

A few checks like swapping springs from side to side to see if the problem swaps sides, checking part numbers on the springs and also checking the shocks should help locate the problem.

The H&R springs are also a very good option but in my opinion the Eibach Sportlines give a better stance.

Unfortunately this is the perfect example of why buying parts from Germany doesn't always work out cheaper.

Hope you get to the bottom of the problem and all sorted with the seller.

cheers Damien for reply Via PM and above.

Ive got my VW audi Specialist to check out the shocks and suspension and no problems at all.

Ive checked the part number on springs and it is 211500303VA on the front mate. Do you know if this is correct.

Its going to cost another £80 to get springs changed over on car and id prefer to get them out buy a set from you and send the others back for refund.

    Will keep you updated.Cheers

ive had my H&R springs fitted for a few months now and not had any problems. When I got them fitted at my local vag indy, he said more people who've had eibach springs fitted came back with issues than people who got H&R springs fitted.

I would disagree with this, maybe biased as I have H&Rs but think they have the better stance. Very hard to compare accurately though as no one ever seems to post pics of their cars side on, nearly always at an angle.

I chose H&R over Eibachs as they were cheaper than the Eibachs(bought from large UK company) and to me H&R products in general have always been far better than Eibach. I'd driven a car with both and didn't notice any difference in ride quality so based my decision around cost and reputation, very happy with them.

    I second that,
as I have HnR ,and doing research they seem to sit more flat side on both good quality in ride comfort...seek some more pics and you'll see.

Define level? As in actual car sitting level or equal arch gap? I'm only asking as I don't think it's possible to have both with the A4. I preferred the look of equal tyre to arch gap so went with the H&Rs but the car doesn't sit level, down in the front a bit.

I bought the weitec 50/50 from DPM which cost a little more at £200 and I'm well happy with them. It will drop the back by another 10mm over the eibach and H&R springs. I had to put the B5 perch plates on the front tho to level things out which was another £50 from audi

So the original springs are not broken but still sitting different heights, did I get that right?
On teh stance thing purely I would personally prefer the car to sit level i.e. unequal arch gap. Audis I think tend to sit high at the back, A3s are aprticularly bad, even the lines seem to create a back end up look, gotsta get it down boy!

Took car to another machanic and full suspension check and going over with no problems detected. He said only problem can be the springs.

Ordered some new ones of Damian @ DPM. Hopefully here this week and the old ones are going back to german in box for refund.
Shouldve listened to Damian from start. 'Aw well you learn from your mistakes'
