What car is that gasket off then......thought they were all the same.
Yup more detail needed please jbs!
I offer the service of EGR deletion via a remap as well as DPF deletion (for track use only ;-)
Maps are written by Mobile ECU remaps.
Bit of research and it's of the mk3 Ibiza.
Part number 028131547B
Ordering mine on Monday from TPS. It's a gasket with a smaller hole to restrict the exhaust gases but still keep the EML light off.

That is ourselves, and yes we can do it no problem! Noone elses map, it is written by myself. Send me a PM and i can give you a call and can explain all
Intersted to see if this works
Keeping the light off and still getting an improvement
Yup let us know how you get on.
How much was the part?
ahhh about £2! LOL!
I reckon I'l try this!
PS did you order two? ONE for each side of the EGR?
Just ordered one from TPS and will be here tomorrow (Tuesday) will fit that eve and see how it goes.
It replaces the gasket closest to the EGR valve. You only need one as if you add another but at the manifold end there is a good chance of collecting sludgy water/oil in the pipe work as you would be making a cooling chamber due to the smaller entry and exit of the pipe if that makes sense.
Got the gasket today and have fitted it.
Decided to take the egr off then fit the gasket as it was awkward to access the small feed pipe bolts to fit the gasket, but in all the job took about 30min to do it all so not bad.
Not driven the car yet but will see in the morning and let you know, but suspect it may be a couple of drives while the ECU adapts
Have you still plugged the top pipe with something?
All connected as normal, but the new gasket will reduce significaly the exhaust gases flowing through the EGR and keep the engine light off as mine is the fussy 2004 variant where unplugging hose etc like the older models does not work the same.
This is interesting !! Just hop it works
Drove car to work and all seems fine and was quite responsive with no warning light like when I disconnected the EGR. The hole in the gasket is much smaller at 9mm in diameter.
I did notice a significant drop in smoke when the car was started from cold and when pulling away hard, compared to before the gasket change
I will give it a few more days of driving but it seems to be working fine so far.
I did mine today, & no EML yet.
Still all ok here and no EML also. There is def a reduction in smoke and it just runs a lot better/smoother too for sure.
Excellent, cheers guys, will get one for mine...2004 one....
Cracking feedback guys!
Not bad for a couple of quid.
Still no EML & I think the engine feels a bit smoother & more responsive.
Im struggling to find where to order this from online
I got mine from my local VW TPS otherwise get it from the dealer.
Glad to hear you are all finding the small hole gasket works, seems to be a good middle ground for reducing issues without paying for an expensive delete pipe.
ordered mine £2.12 + VAT.... will wait and see and update you!
