So I had the MIL light on and my ten-quid code reader says P0403 which is a generic EGR system problem. Doing a search turned up a load of folk with broken EGR pipes on A2s with "my" engine. Anyone had this issue? The valve is 35 quid for one off a scrapper or about 180 so I want to make sure I'm not changing something I don't need to. The fuse is OK.

Cant you visually inspect for damage before paying out, although when doing these types of jobs & part being looked at is heavily suspected as being at fault & if its not expensive, of which £35 isn't, I tend to have it handy to swap across then & there.
So I got the part from eBay and it's nothing like the one I have. I guess I should've had a look to double check before ordering - as a matter of interest, does anyone know what this is -
