Hi all,

Looking at an A5 for my next company car but trying to decide what engine and am concerned about economy.

Having had a shedload of issues with the DPF on my current A3 2.0TDI 170, I'm rather loathe to go diesel again and so was looking at the 2.0T Quattro, which appears to be a good combination of performance with 211PS and the same torque as my current diesel, yet with low-ish CO2 emissions (tax depends on this of course).

The other thread about economy issues with this engine has now got me worried, however, and I'm wondering whether I'd be better off going with diesel. The 2.0TDI is out as I don't think it's got enough grunt for a car this size so it's either the 2.7TDI or preferably the 3.0TDI. These would of course cost me more in tax (26% rather than 22%) but would I make this back with economy? What's the track record with DPF issues on these 6-cylinder diesels like?

Any experiences appreciated :)
