Economy - 2.0 140 chipped to 170 or Factory 170?

As the title really, we all know that the 170tdi A4 isn't very economical, how does the 140's compare in comparison when they are chipped to 170ish?

I haven't got mine remapped yet but I get about 45mpg average with half motorway and the other half town driving.

But if you get the 170 you could always remove the dpf and remap it?

How does the partical filter effect the MPG?

I have a 170 and its not very economical - 41mpg driving like a nun. Bit of a shock compared to 50-odd from a 320d.

It wouldn't affect the mpg, but if you took it off afaik you can get more power from a remap, which might help mpg.

I am averaging 44-46mpg (mix of motorway and residential roads) with my Fast Road map loaded on my 140PS B7 A4.
