My drivers side headlight brackets were damaged when my friend/previous owner of the car clipped a hedge and last week I think I finished them off when hitting standing water at around 80mph.

I've been looking on ebay at 3rd party headlights and have found some for approx £50 brand new. Has anyone had any experience with these and are they any good? They seem a bit too cheap for new units?

Hella, the original make stopped making the headlamps. That lamp looks good enough tho. Motor factors are around £100 + VAT each

So probably worth a shot then? I need to do something as I have hids fitted and don't want the flapping headlight to blind oncoming drivers...

Nice one. Thank you. I'll have to investigate but if it's this simple to fix the oem lights then it should be easy enough to fab up some metal brackets out of scrap to do the same job :D

Yeah exactly. Good luck with it, and if you sort it with your own bracket I want pics as mine is broken, but not moving about too much at the moment, so not top of my priority list.

TBH the tabs seem a fair price when looking at the price of a decent headlight and work a treat !!

Now would be the time to upgrade to xenons :) !!

The original facelift headlight were and are still made by valeo I just got a new set a few months back but were around £130 each. Have to stay the new headlights made a massive difference in light output, cannot believe how bad the reflectors were on the old lights.
