I don't normally sing the praises of large companies but I must make an exception with Dyson.

My hoover started to suck all the **** from the floor straight into the filter before the motor and therefore stopped sucking and made odd noises.

Dyson's website has helpful instructions on how to investigate matters but it was clear that things were not as they should be...

I phoned them, they took some details and informed me that my cyclones were broken and that I needed a new one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The machine is 2+ years old so I reached for my visa card to be told that in fact it shouldn't have happened in the 1st place, so they would courier one out FOC /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cheers Dyson.... Audi take note /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

That's impressive customer service indeed... but if you're going to get into a vacuum debate... the best in the market are Sebo's. They may have a bag... but they suck much better!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What's even more impressive is that armed with the above knowledge and my torx screwdriver i dismantled the offening part, removed about 1kg of dirt and for the sake of a 10minute fiddle to get a clip to re-engage again afterwards it is fixed....

Dyson don't even expect the end user to effect a repair, just send a new bit ready to go /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    Sweet...

Good news David ...just a shame other companies don't follow suit! I think most of them could learn alot from Dyson's after sales service. Nice one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ok.gif

Yeah well just goes to show that you cannot rely on the internet to have everything correct. Better to find these things out for yourself mate! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Knowing that you know nothing is true knowledge! That's a very contradictory and unusal statement to come out with as knowing nothing being true knowledge would leave me to believe that someone who knows nothing thinks they know everything and therefore are very short sighted and arrogant as knowing nothing you can hardly ever hope to understand anything which leads me to believe that to have true knowledge its better to have your head in the sand and know nothing at all! mmmmmmmmmm now i see /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/book.gif

Look CJ Its just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. Then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns and also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?

    i thought not . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh_2.gif

Oh, they say madness runs in our family. Some even call me mad. And why? Because I dared to dream of my own race of atomic monsters, atomic supermen with octagonal shaped bodies that suck blood...

You see... true knowledge is knowing how we whored our way from a discussion about hoovers, to how TDI is desperate to get a knew car... understand that, and you'll understand everything (as well as knowing nothing)
