I am new to turbo cars - infact my S3 is the first!

Is it worth fitting a dump valve? If so what are the benefits of such a product and which manufacturer would you recommmend, i.e. AmD, Bailey, Forge?

Thanks for the link Gambba - I knew there had to be discussions on DVs before!

Am I right in saying that there is no "whoosh" sound on gear changes with an AmD Viper DV?

Well, there's a nice Pssshhhtt, sound /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And C'mon Daniel, tell us how it sounds with the new Intake /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was speaking to someone at AmD and they said that there is no noise with the Viper DV.

Is this true? I thought all DV made that wonderful noise whilst changing gears? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

not really any louder than OEM bosch.

its because Audi use a closed loop system and "divert" (hence diverter valve) the air back into the intake system.

personally i dont like the woosh-tish noise of vent to atmosphere dump valves. I think its cheap and tacky.
