MikeP - where are you going and what route do you intend to take.

We are going to Filsur in South-East Switzerland for a few days and then on to Zell-am-See in Austria. We tend to go from Calais to Reims on the A26 and then the A4 towards Strasbourg, crossing over the Rhine into Germany and staying at Rasthaus Baden-Baden for one night. We then go down the A5 into Switzerland at Basle, on through Zurich and Chur to get to Filisur. On the way back from Zell-am-See we come out of Austria via the Ziller Valley and northwards into Germany to Tegensee and on to the A8, go round south of Munich, alonf the A96 to Memmingen and the A7 and A8, past Stuttgart to Karlesruhe, south on the A5 to Rasthaus Badeb-Baden for the last night. We then use the A4/A26 back to Calais.

Around 1900 miles and all really good driving, including some no speed limit sections of Autobahn. Did the same route a couple of years ago and not a single speed camera in sight.

We're visiting friends in Limoges, Geneva and Zurich before heading to Salzburg. There are a couple of other stops to plan in France, so its going to be a long trip. I doubt we'll be able to avoid the tolls though.
