as I hardly use the fog lights is there any adaption or new light unit I can use to swop my fogs for long range driving lights? The fogs are useless anyway.

The fogs do what they are designed to do which is provide a short low wide beam to light the kerbs. If you put anything else in there you'd get pulled by plod all the time for having your fogs on... Why not fit better bulbs in your dipped and main beams?

I've got xenon dipped beam, good but struggling with stealer for proper adjustment (not as good as previous A3) and put in Osram silverstars for main beam - big difference but still lacks penetration.

If you need further light to compliment your xenons then there's deffo something wrong with your xenons...

Get back to your dealer Garthy, you paid the extra to have the xenons fitted, the least they could do is fit them correctly. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

I have the same problem: the dealer just won't put the beam high enough. Audi are restricted by EU regulations to a certain height (i.e. way too low) for xenon beams.

I certainly wish there was a way to change this at home.

Have PIAA main beams. Happy with them.

anyone tried retro-fitting xenons into their cars ?

standard bulbs just does not reach far enough or bright enough.

I'm pretty sure there's a white socket on top of headlight that lets you adjust the height of the xenon from under the bonnet??

Retro fitting is not too difficult. I know plenty of guys have done it on Golf mkivs anyway.

Just a matter of taking out the entire headlight unit and replacing it.

The hard bit is getting washers into the bumper.
