driving along and MMI disappeared into dash and wont come up

anyone had anything like this, started the car up, drove about 300metres down the road and i noticed that the MMi had gone into the dash, thought i might have hti the button on the dash, but pushing that didnt bring it up, no lights on the nav/radio buttons in the centre console. Stopped the car, and still nothing. Turned the engine off and then took the key out and then switched it back on then it came up initialising and then, and even when i switched to the radio it said initialising the radio.

Bit worrying that it could be electrical as such

Have you tried resetting the MMI?

Depress and Hold MMI Menu Button.

Despress and Hold MMI OK Button / Selection Jog Wheel.

Push Up: MMI Top two selection Buttons
(The MMI Screen will remain elevated but turn off, the MMI system is restarting).

Release all buttons.

OK, i'll give it a go, the drive in was about an hour and half and no problems.

Yes this has happened to me twice. Both times it sorted itself out after about 5 minutes or so. I haven't tried any MMI resets though.
