2003 Audi A4 Quattro 5 Speed. The drivers side mirror was hit by debris. A piece of plywood that flew out of the back of a truck, unfortunately. The casing and the mirror are still secure for the most part, but if there is any wind or vibration, it will vibrate, causing a strobing effect making it difficult to see what is behind.

How can this be repaired?? Can the mirror be salvaged cheaply, or will this require a brand new part?? I would prefer to keep the current mirror as it is in ok condition with the obvious exception of it being not completely stable. It's not dangling by the wires or anything, but not solid like it should be.

Jeesus you have no luck mate. You should stay at home, away from trucks, mcdonalds and right turns - lol

The mirror is screwed to the door behind the plastic triangle trim. The glass is on a pop-in plastic ball-joint - you need to disassemble the mirror and see whats broken, then replace or repair the broken bits... (Or take one off a breaker car)

Careful with the wires....
