Having a few problems with the car right now, not too happy! They seem to be only small problems (coil pack and now window) up until now, which to me seems like its gonna be expensive to sort!
Anyway to the problem at hand... My drivers side electric window stopped working a few days ago, when using the switch to go up and down it sounded like a horrible grinding noise. I was let off work early today (due to Heathrow being deserted!!!) so I decided to open the door up.
I found the wires that connect to the motor which pull and contract (it seems) to put the window up and down are worn. I have taken a couple of pictures (they are not that good so please bare with me, it may give you guys a good idea).
This is the gear which the wires connect to in order to go up and down.
This is the wire that seems to be damaged.
My question is, what do I need to buy in order to fix this problem? I can't imagine Audi selling me just the wire, so will I need to buy the whole mechanism?
Has this happened to anybody before?
