Driver seat broken

Howdy the rear of my drivers seat has broken it's hanging off at the bottom it's the plastic part that is fastened to the rear of the seat. Has anyone else had this happen as it was the same on my 1.8t so I'm thinking it may be common and also is their a way to fix it ? Thanks

I had this, I welded the snapped lumbar support bar, protected the seat with alot of folded tin foil. Then fitted the seat back repair kit.

Thanks Gaz I have suspicion my lumbar had gone too now

That normally causes it. I took the seat out, trimmed the plastic covering from the lumbar bar, welded it, then used the repair kit on the backing. Worked brilliantly. I wasn't paying for a new lumbar part for £££.
