driver door shutting problem

    sometimes when i get in my newly purchased audi a3 1996, when i pull shut the door it wont close properly after a few attempts still the samebut have found if i put my window down an open door from outside then close it it shuts! lol anyone have sim problem before or know hopefully a quick and easy fix?:think:

    Have you tried spraying some WD40 into the mechanism?

    same problem here too. if i shut the door normally or fairly hard it sort of rebounds back half shut on the latch. then you can push it fully shut. It works fine if you shut it gently.

    strangely i drounded the lock in WD40 and it worked fine... for a day then started playing up again

    if i remember right its cause your shutting it so fast the clogged up locking mech's dont move that fast therefore letting it swing back open
