    Hi,

I'm new here and recently purchased a 2004 2.0 tdi which I am planning to modify slightly. Bought some coilovers, fitted the rears fine, came to fitting the fronts and whilst getting carried away trying to remove the strut from the retaining collar i accidently popped the inner drive shaft out of place, i can feel the balls and cage are out of place. Can i just push this back in to place or have i got to take it all off now?

    Any help much appreciated, Thanks

Depends on the shaft end fixing, I suspect its a tripodic bearing part on end, this should just push back in, I would check if it is this type that has a kind of bearing ring on a triangle kind of end of the shaft that pushes back into the housing on the drivetrain side, whatever you do, dont damage them or you'll get vibration & bad alignment as such.
