Drilled & Grooved

    Hi all,

    Im going to get the pads & discs replaced on my S3 (8P) at Audi in 2 weeks.

    Ive seen companies such as Black Diamond selling drilled & grooved discs and wondered whether getting the Audi genuine parts modified before being fitted.

    Has anyone ever done this, is it expensive and/or beneficial as i don't use the car for track days etc?

    Cheers John, Ive got a feeling Mr Brown's brakes are gonna be a lot more than what I'm gonna be paying though....

    As in your identical VAGOC thread,you really don't want to be getting someone to do this with OEM Audi discs,as these were not intended for this in the first place....buy properly made and designed ones.

    Yep, I'll shut up & make do with Audi parts.

    They're expensive enough as it is!!!

    Getting Phaeton discs J-Hooked or grooved seems to be the preferred OEM option for RS brakes... and I think I'd trust Dave to know how deep to go, and how many groove to put in without weakening the disc etc. If you really need drilled discs, buy drilled discs though.

    Dave certainly knows what he's doing,and I know he wouldn't do anything he wasn't entirely sure of.....my comment was aimed at others,or ebay type sellers.
