Door not shutting properly?

Righty, i have having abit of trouble with the drivers side door on my A4 in that when i pull it shut it drops back to the 1st stage of the latch. I have searched through previou posts and found out how to take the door card off etc but i can not see how to get into the latch from that point, as there is very little room between all the metal work inside the door.

Any help would be much appreciated.

had the door dropped at all? My b5 used to be like this and i never did get to the bottom of it.

could be worth an afternon playing with adjusting the striker? That usually does the trick.

Try testing the latch by opening the door and using something like a screwdriver to see if the latch closes properly. If it does you know its an alignment issue as mentioned above and it'll just need to be adjusted.
