My interior light stays on and shows on the display that my drivers door is open when its not, this is annoying as its effecting the locking. Is the door switch part of the door lock?

There is a micro switch and that is part of the lock. Have you tried spraying some contact cleaner or wd40 into the lock on the door @ the latch this might free off the micro switch. Failing that you would need to replace the full lock as you can't buy the switch on its own due to it being a sealed unit.

Sorry cant help you there but you can help yourself. Use google chrome and go to this website it's etka in Russian chrome will translate for you then you can look up your door lock.
Have you had your car scanned with VCDS just to make sure it is the door lock that's faulty.

are these common for failing as I can get one cheap from a 53 plate but I don't want to fit it and it got again 100 miles later, I know this is the risk you take with second hand parts just after opinions?
