i got my kit from ebay and it was about 200 quid it came from germany

the kit needed a lot of work before it could go on the car but i was happy with it coz ive been in the game for a while.

for 200 quid your not gonna get a well finished kit just a crappy copy but if your good with your hands and dont mind doing a lot of prep work go for it

I got one of these kits too, not fitted it yet tho. And the best bit...... it only cost me £51 on ebay. A guy bought the kit a while ago and never got around to fitting it and now he wanted it gone, i jumped in with a bid a few seconds from the end of the auction and to my surprise i won. If you want any pics of what it looks like i'll take some pics for you.

There are some rough edges in a few places and especially on the rear bumper it looks like the sides have been joined to the middle rather than being made in one piece so this will need some work to blend in better also the front bumper has mark where the headlamp washers would go, as mine doesn't have them this will also need removing. The main bit bugging me is that there are no fixing brackets so it will take some playing about to get it all fitted.

thats why i said your going to be doing a lot of work eg. sanding/bogging and maybe even a few more layers of glass wouldnt go a miss on the side along where the bumber is to be fixed and along the bottom lip

also make sure you trail fit everthing the front bumper on mine didnt line up well it seemed to wide so i had to cut a "V" on the lip just under both headlights so i could pull the sides in to meet the wings.

i also had to cut the side skirts a little but the back bumper fitted well

    heres some pics

Is this task something that a newbie could manage with a bit of patience?

just a note of warning about veno designs....

i bought the same kit (avant version) last year from the same bloke

4 months later and still nothing and no reply to emails! i eventually got my money back through a paypal dispute but only because i was one of many in the same boat!

the guy gave london details in ebay which were fake and turned out he sends stuff from poland. he used to have the user id of "venodesigns" but he got suspended, he has sinse started trading under another name - something pleasure???? double pleasure maybe???? i think he watches too much porn?

no doubt he does do kits as he did have many satisfied customers but i was emailing around 15-20 angry punters that were all planning on breaking his legs, people that didn't use paypal lost their money.

this is just my personal experience, if i were you i'd play safe and buy from germany.

    good luck

hi, why don't you like ebay? granted you need to be careful but whats not to like? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/noidea.gif

    anyway...

had a look at ttr's shop. and found this

he's actually just sellling the sides, but that front bumper is nice. ignore the wacky decals like and imagine it just body-coloured, it reminds me of reigers sport-line bumper

this only fits facelift models though, have you considered reiger rs4

ok it costs more but if it'l fit much easier than ebay ones, it might be worth it. £239 including postage and vat, not bad. and no ebay worries

    just ideas............... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

A word of advice... the Rieger RS4 front is just a shell... no bumper carrier... which means very fiddly to fit... it can be done if you know what you're doing but it's not a simple 'unbolt the original, bolt up the new one' affair. It will take a lot of messing about with... you need to remove the old carrier from the OE bumper and then fit it to the new shell. That's the messy bit because there is no predetermined place to fit it, it's just a smooth hollow shell and how it goes in and is fixed in place is entirely up to the fitter.

    Best of luck.

    Cheers

Thanks for all the comments, i think I'll play safe a stay clear.

Liking that bumper you posted tracer butim on a budget and if i cant find what i want for the money i might just sell the car and buy a newer one to spend on as i feel anything more than a couple of hundred is a waste on a 10yr old car
