Unfortunately I can't really help on the VAG-COM front unless you're likely to pass through Lancashire any time soon.

Also, I don't want to be the angel of death, but I thought I better mention as it's potentially a security thing; but are you absolutely certain that your alarm is arming? ...It's just that if the locks operate without the alarm becoming active, the result is the same - no beeps/flash...

...You should see the LEDs start flashing about 30-60 seconds after locking if the alarm is armed, but it probably wouldn't hurt to give a round of applause through an open window to check...

Hope you get it sorted (and seriously, if by some amazing fluke you are due to be in Lancashire at some point, PM me!).

    Regards,

    Rob.

    Hi mate,

Thanks for the offer but a bit of a trip for me :)

The alarm is working as i had the dogs in the car today and locked the car and when i came back they'd set the alarm off as i forgot to press the overide button.

So i think its just a software thing.

The led's on the doors are also flashing.

    Cheers

If its a repair to the Side of the car, then surely the the fact that the car isn't locking is under the warranty on the repair, and that the repair is incomplete No?? Failing that, take it to Specialist Cars get it set and bill it to the repairing company or complain to the insurer that the repair is incomplete and get them to take it back and rectify it...

Derek, I can probably help out...I'm in Ellon.

I'm offshore for another week and a bit...but if you can wait, I'm sure I can help out.
Do you have the additional values you need to add to get the results you desire?
If not, I can probably dig out the info.

    Hi Glen,

I'm up at the total site at St.fergus weekly and drive past Ellon on my way there/back so maybe when you return i could pop round and see you?

Thanks very much its appreciated, theres no extreme hurry so anytime that suits you will suit me mate.

As for the codes i'll have a look on the ross-tech website and see if i can work out whats required, although i'm not familiar with it but i'll do my best.

Safe trip back mate, what platform - long flight? (I hate heli's)

    See you shortly

    Regards

The car is locking fine, i've just lost the indication.

The repair on my car was done by a friend in his bodyshop, the insurer wanted to write the car off due to the age but my mate sorted it out, so billing him, or telling my insurance about it is not an option. He also had to pay specialist cars to reset the bag light so i have asked him if he'll call them and tell them they've messed up my alarm/locking indication but he's a busy boy.

Dosent matter now that Glen can help hopefully at some point.

    Cheers anyway.

    Sounds good...
I'm only a 5 min deviation off the Peterhead - Aberdeen road...just off the new bypass road that runs round the back of Ellon.

What do you do up at St Fergus?
I was on the Shell site for 6 years or so back in the 90s. Ops Tech.
Then I worked at Mobil's SAGE plant for a bit...commissioning the STE Britannia pipeline facilities.

No probs...it'll take me a few days to get swung round from a trip of nights anyway.

I think I have a little application programme that does the calculations for you, on my laptop that runs VAG-Com...I'll check when I get back home.

    Cheers...I'm on Cormorant A.
Not so much a long flight as lots of hassle...via Scatsta you see...the fixed wing back to ABZ.

    TTYL...
